My Young Adult Book Is Out

The Black Cougar of Vernon Secondary

My very first Young Adult paranormal book has been released today at Whiskey Creek Press. Right now, it’s only out in ebook format, but I’m hoping at sometime it’ll be released in trade paperback. You can find it on Whiskey Creek’s website HERE.

Mika Taylor has always had it bad for Trent Hunter, but she never had the guts to talk to him. Now that her best friend’s moved away, Mika dreads having to face a school year at Vernon Secondary alone. And being classed as the school freak doesn’t help matters. When Trent finally looks at her and not through her, Mika starts to think grade eleven won’t be so bad after all. Getting to know him better, she can’t shake the feeling there’s something he isn’t telling her. A chance encounter with the fabled Okanagan black cougar has her putting two and two together. When Mika sees not only the black cougar along with another cougar lurking in her backyard, she has to wonder if things can get any stranger than they already are.

    I’m happy to hear your daughter loved this one, Karen. I’ve been thinking about writing another Young Adult book. So there maybe another in the future.

    I’m 16 and I have to say that I LOVE this book! I have been looking for this type of scenario for so long and thought I would never find it. But when I found The Black Cougar of Vernon Secondary, I couldn’t read it fast enough! I love stories about outcast or loner girls and that mean popular girl that always like to finds ways to make her life miserable only to have everything ruined by the hottest guy falling love with that loner/outcast. And to add the icing on the cake, the guy is a shifter too! I hope that you continue to make more teen novels like this one. And will definitely be recommending this one to all of my friends.
